Magazine advert analysis 1

This kings of Leon magazine advert has the generic conventions of a normal magazine advert or what is expected of a magazine advert. the background colour is a dark and dull colour in which could portray the narrative of this album and the songs in it or could simply be to make the other writing stand out. The font is in a white colour to stand out on the dull background colour which is eye-appealing for the audience viewing it. The four band members are on the advert however, there is a birds face in the middle of all of their faces. This is unusual to have on a magazine poster as they almost look half bird half man in this photo. I think this is a very unique and key aspect of the magazine advert as this allows the audience viewing it to think carefully about what is happening and what the narrative of the songs could be about.

The usual generic conventions are there just as the band name, album name, when it out or if it is already out and the record labels in the bottom corners of the screen. these all make up the magazine advert and help to contribute to the effectiveness of the magazine advert itself. Overall I think that this is a very dull magazine advert however, I think this has been done so tat the audience can take into account what may be to come from the songs.

This has helped me understand the key aspects of a magazine advert and how they are put together to look good and attract their audiences. Therefore from this I should hopefully be able to create and good magazine advert and use all the generic conventions.
