Brief analysis of a Magazine advert

  • The colouring on this magazine advert could help to connote the emotions in the album or in fact explain a subtle explanation to what happens. The colour Red could mean love or blood. Therefore these are two different meanings giving completely different ideas of a possible narrative. The colour White is usually used to connote innocence, therefore this gives a key incentive as to what the album/songs may be about. The colour Black is sinister and could mean death or betrayal. Therefore from these three colours a lot can be taken in as to what the narrative is about, for example the red colour could mean love, white could mean innocence and black could mean betrayal. Therefore from this we could assume that there is a relationship that has gone bad. The theme seems to be Strickland banks from this magazine advert as it is shown in bold writing to catch the audiences eye.
This has helped me understand how magazine adverts attract audiences and also how they can portray specific key information that audiences can take to create a narrative.
