Is there a typical narrative?	The narrative behind this video seems to be the main character in the story. The narrative seems to be someone trying to train for a champion ship within a sport.
What is expected in the video?	I would expect to see action or some sort of progression of the story.
What is unexpected in the video?	The unexpected scene in this music video is one that is missing. There is no fight seen to end the narrative.
Intertextual References?  (Video link to other music videos?)	There are no intertexual references.

 

NARRATIVE:

What is the storyline of the video?	A fight or training to fight.
Is there a theme?	The theme is boxing.
Is there a recognisable structure (TODOROV – Equilibrium 5 stages)?	There seems to be a disruption of the equilibrium and then an effort to resolve it.
Are there recognisable characters?	The only character noticeable in this music video seems to be portrayed as a hero.
How does the video reflect the lyrics?	The video reflects the lyrics well. This is because there is a subtle hint to the music video within the lyrics.

What issues of representation are evident?	The main character is represented as a hero or trainee in this video in which seems to help the narrative of the video.
How have these been represented? Stereotypes?	There is a stereotypical scene of the male character training to fight. This is stereotypical as males are seen to be violent.
Look at the artist as a star – how have they been constructed?	The have been constructed to show dominance and power throughout the video as there are various scenes where the are dominant over others.
Do they have an anonymous role in the  video or are they there as celebrity?	They have an anonymous role within the music video because they seem to be trying to gain fame through what looks to be them training for an important fight.

Where is the video set? Connotations of this setting?	The video seems to be set in a city. This seems to have connotations of lack of wealth as this is set in what looks to be the poorer area.
Dominant colour used in the video? Why? What is the effect?	The video has very dark and gloomy colours which add effect and give the audience a sense of emotion throughout the video.

Shot Compositions that stand out?	The shots that are used in which stand out are a worm eye view of the main character training.

Camera Angles? Interesting ones? What effect is created?	Interesting camera anglers that are used are the worm eye view. This gives huge effect as it isn't used a lot therefore adding effect to the scene.
Does the way the camera moves help to tell the story?	The camera moves the help portray the story when the actor trains, this is because it moves when he trains.
What is editing like? Type of cuts etc?	The editing is very fast therefore increasing the pace of the video and increasing tension.

Who is the target audience for the video?         How does the video target this specific audience?	The target audience is young adults.            The video targets this audience by doing usual stuff that happens in young adults lives causing them engage with their audience.
