Performance shots, the artist both protagonist and antagonist on screen

 The flashbacks of the night the event happened.

 Court Case - man accused of rape

 Court

Are there recognisable characters?
 Male artist, female antagonist, male protagonist, judge, court occupants - court case

How does the video reflect the lyrics?
Yes it reflects the lyrics in that she said whatever making the accusation incorrect.





REPRESENTATION:

What issues of representation are evident?
 Women - vulnerable
male - victim of accusation - powerful - celeb artist


How have these been represented? Stereotypes?
 Women the victim - stereotypical feature.
Look at the artist as a star – how have they been constructed?
 Looks wealthy - celeb/artist


Do they have an anonymous role in the  video or are they there as celebrity?
 Looks to be a wealthy celeb, seen as a big icon in court


VISUAL CODES:


Where is the video set? Connotations of this setting?
 Court, connotations - law breaking or violence as this is seen to be the main reason why people are in court.

 Dark at parts - sinister - maybe reflecting on the act being shown in the narrative.

 Court is clearly displayed at the start of the video

 A lot of pans and close ups on artist/main character.

 Fast and slow - fast cuts to keep pace up in the court.

How does the video target this specific audience?
 young adults

 male - relatable to a very small minority
female - relatable again to a very small minority

 funding - court
What is the brand image of the star that is sold?
How is the star marketed and promoted?
 two different scenes and personalities between characters. 




This has helped me understand how different music videos can portray different narratives based on how their music video is constructed. This is important and I will take it into account when making my own music video.
