We did a remake of Justin Timberlake's music video because we needed to experience what it is like to create a music video and the preparation needed to create one. We had to consider mise-en-scene carefully and location as we needed to copy/remake the original video. This has helped us understand what is needed to create a music video.
From our section, we needed to recreate the music video within the time allocated to us. We learnt that lip syncing is hard and that the overall filming isn't necessarily easy. When coming to create our own we will need to think of the location and genre carefully, creating the correct mise-en-scene
needed.
Overall, doing this task has helped me understand the key features needed for a music video and how the narrative is portrayed throughout the clip. When creating our own music video we will have to consider the narrative and mise-en-scene especially as these are the two key areas that make a music video successful.
