I got this information from a VH1 website explaining how much the top 10 music video costs and this website clearly broke down how the money was used to make it.

Most Viewed music videos:

Enrique Iglesias – Bailando – 1.4 billion views

LittleBabyBum - The Wheels on the Bus – 1.4 billion views

Major Lazer – Lean on – 1.4 billion views

I got this information from a youtube video in which gave a list of the most viewed music videos of all time. This music video was released only a month ago therefore the results are accurate.

Music videos are mostly made to promote the artist. They are also used to boost sales of the song so that people buy it more.

Most popular music videos from each decade:

1980s – Girls on film – Duran Duran

1990s – Black or White – Michael Jackson

2000s- Bad romance – Lady gaga

2010s – Gangnam Style - Psy

This has helped me understand what music videos looked like through the different years and what made music videos so successful. I can use this information when coming to make our own music video as we can try and replicate some of the qualities that the successful music videos have.
